PROJECT OVERVIEW
Product Design for Launch
Creative Genie is an AI-powered ad creation platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses to generate and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns.
The design focused on simplifying campaign setup, clarifying user flows, and creating a cohesive interface that made it easy for non-experts to generate, test, and manage ads across channels.
Powered by a large language model, integrated image generation, and built-in performance reporting, the platform could generate content variations, run real-time tests, and recommend optimised outputs based on engagement.
This project hit my desk in early 2025, and there were only a few contenders in this space at that time, so time was everything to get a complex product to market as soon as possible.
THE CHALLENGE
Parallel Design in a Fast-Moving Build
The project was already in active development when I joined, with some core backend functionality in place.
My role was to define the user experience and visual direction - drawing on rapid research and continuous reference to the evolving staging site. I focused on clarifying user flows, simplifying complexity, and establishing a cohesive design system that supported both business goals and user needs under tight timelines.
Regular sessions with the development team were held to present progress, align on implementation, and resolve emerging questions collaboratively.

RESEARCH AND UNDERSTANDING
I began by mapping the existing product flow, identifying inconsistencies, redundancies, and user friction points. Parallel competitor analysis highlighted where usability, clarity, and hierarchy could set this product apart.
UI DESIGN SYSTEM
I created a modular, component-driven interface and a starter design library for rapid delivery and future scaling.
UX DESIGN
From Prompt to Post in Just 3 Clicks
The platform’s key function is to generate marketing advertisement creatives, whilst also allowing for stand-alone image generation and copywriting. With this, the challenge was reducing cognitive load while preserving flexibility. Each key area was structured around a consistent left-hand navigation and progressive disclosure model.
Ongoing collaboration with the founder and business partner introduced a marketing goal: “ad created and posted in just 3 clicks.” This became a guiding principle, influencing decisions around layout, navigation, and feature prioritisation to keep the experience fast, focused, and user-friendly.
Sub-pages such as Profile, Reporting Dashboard, and Project Overview were designed for scalability, ensuring feature parity with future AI extensions.

Product Live
The feature-rich platform launched on schedule with a complete UX and UI foundation in place - supporting campaign creation, image and copy generation, user management, and reporting - designed to serve immediate business needs while laying the groundwork for future growth and iteration.
