How to use the colour contrast checker
Ensure your website meets accessibility standards for text and background colours.
1. Upload an image or screenshot. The colour contrast checker will automatically detect colour combinations and provide a pass/fail result based on the ratio requirements outlined in the Web Content Accesibility Guildelines (WCAG).
Test different combinations against WCAG standards to find a palette that works best for your brand and your audience.
Toggle on or off the detected colour combinations in the left panel
Use the, "The quick brown fox" preview to see how the text (foreground) and background colour combination look, and how they score.
You can play with colour combinations in a variety of ways:
Click on any colour swatch in the left panel to change the colour.
Use the colour picker, or enter RGB, HSL or hex values
Switch the foreground and background colours with the button below 'The quick brown fox'
Changed your colours? Click the 'copy' icon to copy your list of hex codes and paste elsewhere.
Please note - the tool auto-detection can sometimes make mistakes as it looks for colours working next to each other.
